An amusing tongue-in-cheek after-market Volkswagen dashboard label from the ‘60s dubbed the ignition switch derPuttersparken, the windshield wipers derDrizzleflippen, and the headlights dasGlimmerblinken. It is to those headlights, shining in the dark, that we created our own amusing ode: Glimmerblinken Helles Lager. The beer itself is serious business – German hops and barley, pillowy soft with floral notes and a hint of spice – but the label is all fun: Grateful Dead iconography reimagined. Two skeletons take a road trip in their McMenamins bus, and as the day comes to a close, das Glimmerblinken lead the way.
