McMenamins is and will always be about creativity – you experience it when you hear a great new band at the Crystal Ballroom, when you’re stopped in your tracks by an intriguing mural on the wall of a pub and – perhaps most important, some would say? – when you lift a pint of McMenamins handcrafted ale. Our brewers, a curious and inventive lot, are encouraged to try different styles, ingredients and methods. Their heart and soul goes into the work – in fact, you might even hear them refer to something called the Mighty Beer Atom, their name for the mythical force that binds and fuels all ale. The brewers come up with their own recipes, suggest names for their concoctions and even draw the artwork to represent the beer, as is the case with the Tiny Brewer Art on display at the annual Lighthouse Brewfest in Lincoln City, OR every August.
