The 2009 Pinot Noir is light garnet in color with fruity aromas of fresh raspberries, cherry and strawberry, complemented by notes of rose petal, clove, cedar, barrel toast and vanilla. The palate is bright and juicy, with cherry and raspberry fruit, cedar and white chocolate. It is light in body, with moderate tannins and acidity.The 2009 vintage in Oregon benefitted from a long growing season with near ideal growing conditions. Grapes received the depth of flavor expected in a vintage with a lot of hang time without accumulating excessive sugar or depleted acids.  

The Edgefield Winery is located at the mouth of Columbia River Gorge at historic McMenamins Edgefield, site of the former Multnomah County Poor Farm (ca. 1911).

The 2007 vintage started warm in the spring months propelling the vines early on in February and March, but then a cold spell hit in April slowing things down dramatically. A good set year, unlike 2004 and 2005, the season continued with slow development, for the Willamette Valley. September rang in with rain and didn’t stop for harvest, leaving Pinot Noir with low sugar levels and ample acidity. Our 07 is a lower alcohol, lighter body, and higher acidity wine than in years past.
