Golden-yellow in color, the 2009 Chardonnay from warmer vineyard sites in Washington highlights more tropical fruit flavors and aromatics. It is fruity, with notes of crisp green apple and tropical fruits. This wine ends with a subtle coconut and honey-like finish, and it is moderately full in body and mouth-filling.

The Edgefield Winery is located at the mouth of the Columbia River Gorge at McMenamins Edgefield, former site of the historic Multnomah County Poor Farm (ca. 1911). Chardonnay grapes grown in the warmer Rogue Valley provide rich flavors and aromatics of pineapple, pear and citrus fruit. Fermentation, aging and frequent stirring of the lees in new and old French oak barrels help to build the wine’s flavor and texture.
