McMenamins artist Lyle Hehn knew he wanted to do something
astronomical in concept for Terminator Stout’s beer label. And he
needed something that would look good in black and white (much like a
pint of stout). So he turned to old medieval woodcuts for inspiration
and came up with this long-standing Terminator icon.
The Ruby
logo was created by McMenamins artist Lyle Hehn, who was inspired by
German good-luck kitchen witches. Today, Ruby shows up in a variety of
places, in various pursuits and forms, yet always with her beautiful
red locks.
The original Hammerhead logo was created by company artist Lyle Hehn for the previously-named Hammerhead Ale, which is the company’s top-selling beer. The logo itself was modeled after French and German ads from the 1920s that idolized the working class. And he kind of just looks like a guy you’d want to have a beer with, doesn’t he?
